As many of you
know this publication is dedicated to showcasing the business
of urban entertainment. Our primary goal is exposing our
readers to the beauty and brains of the biz cause we all know
that showbiz is 105% show and 90% biz. September's model of
the month Ciceli Johnson fits the mold to a T mixing beauty
and brains effortlessly. I recently had an opportunity to slow
her down for a brief Q&A session...enjoy.
Jay: When did you know that you
wanted to be a model?
Ciceli: When I was 22 and a
photographer approached me to take some pictures.
Jay: How did you get started in
the biz?
Ciceli: After
I placed in a Dark N Lovely
competition I knew it was something I could do
professionally and not just as a hobby.
Jay: Who are your influences?
Ciceli: Veronica
Webb and Tyra Banks
Jay: What is your proudest moment
professionally/personally?
Ciceli: Finishing
my BA in
Healthcare Administration.
Jay: What type of modeling are
you looking to do?
Ciceli: Commercial,
Print, and runway.
I would love to be a spokes model for a clothing line or hair
products.
Jay: What type of work will you
refuse to do?
Ciceli: Pornography
Jay: How have you managed to
keep working over the years?
Ciceli: By
having a unique, marketable look that stands out in the crowd
and not having a Miss Diva attitude and
most importantly being ON TIME!
Jay: What's on the horizon?
Ciceli: For
me personally, My debut Gospel album which I
am in the studio working on now, a few film projects I
have written, my new clothing line "Chozen Wear" and
for the industry-A lot of doors opening for more exotic and
ethnic looking models. I am so glad color is seen as beautiful
now.
Jay: Any words of advice?
Ciceli: Always
follow your goals. I didn't say dreams because while dreaming
you are asleep while setting goals you have to be awake and
alert. Education is the first key. No one can take that from you.
