T-West's vocal
abilities were first noticed as a very young child, when she
stunned her church congregation with melodic notes that most
adults struggle to deliver. She performed in several
competitions, winning her fair share and eventually joined a
group as the lead singer. She also danced in several
competitions, which helped to develop her versatile style.
T-West was greatly influenced by such greats as Patti LaBelle;
Sade; Anita Baker; Angela Winbush; Stephanie Mills; Chaka
Kahn; Stevie Wonder; Prince; Michael Jackson; and Phillip
Bailey. As a result,T-West has developed a unique style that
integrates lush vocals, melodic hooks, intriguing lyrics and
dramatic harmonies manipulating her powerful, limitless voice
as if playing an instrument.
While completing college, T-West continued performing and
recording as a solo artist in several genres. She has
completed a magnificently diverse CD, "STAND FOR SOMETHIN'",
as a result. T-West has appeared with and/or has had
production and writing collaborations with an eclectic list of
pros that include, Steve Jones of Acoustic Alchemy; Diallo
Moss; Walter Bell and the Latin Jazz Unit; Rhian Benson; The
Jazzyfatnastys; Malichi & Cola of XM Radio channel 61; Ty
Gray-El; Justine Love of WPGC 95.5 Washington, DC for
BET/Rap-It-Up; Tap Dance Legend, Roosevelt Nettles; Shocklee
Entertainment; Phyre-n-Eyce; K.D. Morris; The Twin Poets;
G-Major of The Arsonist Camp; International Slam Poetry
Champion, Taalam Acey; Glenn (Rashad) Smith; and Eric (Spade)
Haynes of Rythym Shack Studio.
Along the way, T-West completed acting and modeling courses to
become more multi-dimensional and to further utilize her
shapely 5'7",135lb. frame and striking features. She
obtained her SAG eligibility by appearing in a feature film,
three television shows, a television pilot, and commercials.
T-West gives us a unique performer with the ability to display
her incredible skills as a singer/songwriter very
effortlessly. When asked of her ultimate career goal, T-West
replied, "My goal is to be a complete entertainer...I
want to provide top notch entertainment with each
performance.”
